About Walsin Lihwa
Established in 1966 as a manufacturer of wire and cable at inception, Walsin Lihwa Corporation became listed
on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 1972 and is now a leading company of wires and cables in the Greater China
region and a global stainless steel industry leader. The Company has also become an international consortium by
successful expansion into real estate, the resources business, renewable energy, and hi-tech industries.
Walsin Lihwa's core businesses include wire and cable, stainless steel, resources, as well as real estate. In the
1980s, Walsin Lihwa commenced investment in semiconductors, electronic components and parts, printed circuit
boards, optoelectronics, and finance by establishing Winbond Electronics, Walsin Technology, HannStar Board, and
HannStar Display.
For expansion into the market of high-end applications of stainless steel as well as the green energy sector,
Walsin Lihwa's Italian subsidiary Cogne Acciai Speciali (CAS) completed its acquisition of Special Melted Products
(SMP) and steel-rolling mills from Outokumpu in Europe in 2023, entering the high-end application market. CAS
further contributed to the circular economy by completing the acquisition of Italian waste stainless steel recycling
company Com.Steel Inox S.p.A (Inox) in 2024, and acquired German seamless pipes and tubes manufacturer DMV
GmbH to meet the diverse needs of high-end markets. In 2025, Walsin Lihwa advanced strategic cooperation with
Advanced Manufacturing (Sheffield) Ltd (AML) in the UK, deepening its layout in high-grade stainless steel and
nickel alloy manufacturing and strengthening its competitive advantage in the aerospace and energy industries.
At the end of the same year, Walsin Lihwa launched the brand-new Steeval® cold-finished bar, integrating global
resources and taking the cold-finished bar-the core material for precision manufacturing and key components-as
the starting point for value innovation, becoming a provider of stainless steel precision manufacturing solutions
and bringing an outstanding stainless steel material experience to diverse industrial applications.
In addition, Walsin Energy Cable System Co., Ltd. was established in partnership with Denmark's NKT Group to
build Taiwan's first submarine cable plant in the Port of Kaohsiung, introducing world-class quality management
systems and low-carbon smart processes. International product certification is expected to be completed in 2026,
with formal mass production commencing in 2027, fully supporting domestic offshore wind power project demand
and enhancing Taiwan's competitiveness in the international market.
