In 2020, Walsin Lihwa invested in the production of nickel pig iron, an upstream raw material for stainless steel, at the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park ("IMIP"). Upholding the principles of " neighborhood friendliness, harmonious coexistence, economic prosperity, and social welfare," the company has donated funds to support the neighborhood infrastructure from five aspects, including Medicare, Education, Environment, Economy, and Culture.
The new clinic is located near the main artery and is about a five-minute drive from the industrial park. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on January 9, 2025, organized by the IMIP ESG Foundation and attended by Walsin Lihwa and other related companies. On the day of the event, celebratory cannon fire and colorful smoke displays created a lively atmosphere to mark this significant occasion.
The clinic is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025. It will feature internal medicine, emergency centers, advanced care units, and multifunctional medical examination rooms, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as ultrasound (USG) and CT scanners. Once in operation, the clinic will provide comprehensive medical services to employees and local residents, enhancing healthcare standards within the industrial park and surrounding communities.
